How to manage domains through Cpanel
The “Domain” section of the cPanel allows you to register, redirect, park domains, or create subdomains or add more domains if you are under the plan of hosting more than one domain.
Let’s start with the first one – Subdomain
Subdomain
If you want to add a subdomain to your existing domain, click the “Subdomain” icon. Select the main domain from the drop down box and enter a prefix in the field called Subdomain. Type the home directory in the Document Root field and click the “Create” button.
Addon Domain
If you want to add a completely unique domain, then click the “Addon Domain” and enter the new domain name, the FTP username (this is the field where you need to give the directory name where your addon domain files will be placed, just as public_html of the primary domain), a new password and click “Add Domain” button.
Parked Domain
These are domains you own but they do not have any content. Using parked domains, you can redirect traffic to another site. Click the “Parked Domains” icon. On the next page, enter the domain name that you want to park and click “Add Domain” button.
Redirect
This feature allows you to redirect the visitors of a certain domain to another particular domain. First, click on the “Redirects” icon on the main screen. On the next page, select either Temporary 302 (does not update the bookmarks of a visitor) or Temporary 301 (updates the records of the visitor’s browser) from the drop down menu. In the next field, select the URL you wish to redirect from the drop down menu. After that, enter the URL you wish to redirect your visitors to. Do not forget to use the appropriate protocol such as http:// or https://. Select any the type of URL you want to redirect, i.e. using www or without www and also the type of URL you want to redirect to, i.e. to an URL containing www or to an URL without www. Then, click the “Add” button.
